Any thoughts or memories of the "dean of wrestling commentors", the late Gordon Solie? He had such a great voice, but a couple of things stick out in my memory. One thing, he never referred to the Armstrong/Smothers tagteam as "The Southern Boys"- they were billed as such & their music was "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys" by .38 Special. He always said "Southern Gentlemen". And he always pronounced suplex, su-play. Never su-plecks. Even if it was a top-rope superplex, it was super-play. Just him, I guess, trying to make the wrasslin' business sound more civilized.

Simply the greatest wrestling commentator of all time in my book! I don't think anyone has been able to capture the moment like he did. He will always be remembered. I'm getting his book which you can purchase at highspots.com and I'm sure that will be a very good read.

Gordon Solie was the best at what he did back then, and to this day. In my opinion, no one will ever come close to topping this great wrestling legend.
