Many have yet to experience the return of NWA wrestling to the state of Alabama. Wrestle Inc. has put together some all star lineups on paper. They made it happen live when so many of the Southeastern and Continental fans came back together to see the stars of the past collide with the stars of the future. I missed out on the first couple of events due to my traveling schedule but managed to make it to the last one held at the Zamora Shrine Temple in Iron Dale. After speaking with the likes of Road Warrior Animal, Dr. Tom Prichard, Brad Armstrong, and others they all had about the same thing to say about NWA coming back to Alabama. That it was good for business and good for Alabama. They think with the addition of a few new top established names and more rising stars that the NWA Wrestle Inc. promotion would be something to deal with. A weekly TV show airs around the Birmingham area to keep fans up to date with the events. The next live event will be on Friday August 12th in Birmingham, Alabama at the Zamora Shrine Temple. As of right now that date is open for me so I will make it out to the show. From what I understand Dr. Tom Prichard, Elix Skipper, Mike Jackson, The Bullet, Scott Armstrong, Road Dogg, and others will be in action. Brickhouse Brown was qouted in saying it's about time the territory got lit up again. I think it has in more ways than one. The great thing about the NWA is it's an established name. The credibility that comes with the NWA is far beyond what you can pay for. The NWA has prided itself on tradition but welcoming new stars to make a name for themselves. Will Wrestle Inc. be able to continue the NWA legacy in the Southeastern/Continental territory? Only time will tell but be rest asure that these people who put these events on have brought back alot of good memories for me. I have gone back and dug through the collection of vintage tapes. Catching one of my favorite fueds with The Dirty White Boy Tony Anthony and Dr. Tom Prichard. I mean this fued was great, simply put. Having the honor to meet both of these people at 2 different time periods is amazing to me. Not everything is about the past though. New stars like "Primetime" Elix Skipper has really brought a whole arsenal of tricks to the table. Competing on a weekly basis for promotions in the NWA such as Wrestle Inc., GCW in Columbus, TNA, & Anarchy in GA. Being seen on TV every week has helped Elix establish himself on the independent circuit claiming many titles in the process. Who will be the next superstar to emerge from the area? Stay tuned to find out.
