*countdown to nwa-tna in huntsville, al.
*gcw stays strong with riggs,daffney,bagwell,&more.
*more news
*continental flashback.
First of all, let me introduce myself to the USA Independent Wrestling fans out there. I am not just a writer but a historian, a worker, and so much more. They call me The Joykiller, some just call me Joe Slaten. Call me what you want, but nobody else will bring you this much info on Alabama Wrestling, and never will. My site ran for a good 2 years being voted one of the best of all time. But now its a mere newsletter mainly because I don't have the time to maintain the site, and the fans need to know whats going on in AL. I need to tell you a little about my wrestling history first so you know where I am coming from.
I remember back when I was just a little kid and my dad taking me down to the Civic Center to see Continental Wrestling. To me the best promotion ever to run Alabama, and to this date no one has been able to compete with the legacy of Continental. You name them and they were in Continental... From Scott Hall, Yokozuna, Jerry Lawler, to Jeff Jarrett who made rare apperances to regulars like The Fullers, The Armstrongs, Dr.Tom Prichard, The Dirty White Boy, Jerry Stubbs, Wendell Cooley, Tracy Smothers, The Rich's, Kevin Sullivan, The Flame, Norvell Austin, Adrian Street, Bam Bam Bigelow, Doug Furnas, and many others were featured weekly from B'ham, Montgomery, Dothan, as well as TN. These memories are golden for anyone who were lucky enough to get a chance to witness Continental. Thank you for that legacy. Now its time for a new legacy... I will continue the legacy on my own if I must but I would rather try and allign the promotions in Alabama for the rest of the World can see how good Wrestling is for Alabama.
I stepped into the ring for the first time back in 1998 and been in and out ever since. I do think 2002 is the year for The Joykiller but until then here is THE ALABAMA WRESTLING UPDATE!!!!!!!!!
